Job Summary Performs legally defensible collection of urine, oral fluid, hair (and, if certified, breath alcohol) specimens for drug and alcohol testing. Ensures strict chain‑of‑custody (CoC), donor privacy, specimen integrity, accurate documentation, and timely packaging/shipment to the testing laboratory in compliance with institutional SOPs and local regulations (e.g., RA 9165/DOH–PDEA in the Philippines) and client requirements. Duties and Responsibilities Verify donor identity and eligibility; explain rights, process, and confidentiality. Prepare a secured collection area. Review requisition; confirm test type, observed/unobserved status, and documentation needs. Maintain professional, gender-sensitive conduct; arrange same-sex observer when required. Urine: instruct donor, monitor timelines, check temperature (within 4 min), inspect for adulteration, split if required, and seal with tamper‑evident labels. Oral fluid / Hair: collect per kit instructions (site prep, minimum volume/length), avoid contamination. Breath Alcohol (if certified): perform screening/evidential tests, device checks, and 15‑minute observation as policy requires. Handle shy bladder, insufficient quantity (QNS), out‑of‑range temperature, suspected tampering, or refusals per SOP. Complete CoC/CCF accurately (donor and collector signatures, dates/times, remarks). Enter data in LIMS/logs; assign barcodes; secure temporary storage (refrigeration if applicable). Package and ship/hand‑off to courier or lab with documented custody transfers. Follow biosafety and PPE; manage spills; segregate waste. Maintain lot controls, kit inventory, calibration/verification records (for alcohol devices). Participate in audits, CAPA, and refresher trainings; report incidents and near‑misses. Coordinate schedules with HR/Occ Health; manage on‑site/mobile events; maintain neutrality and discretion. Job Qualifications Senior High School/Associate degree or higher; healthcare or lab background preferred. Authorized Specimen Collector training/certification (DOH/PDEA-recognized in PH or client‑required standard). Strong documentation accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; basic computer literacy. Valid driver’s license for mobile/on‑site work (as assigned).
