The role is responsible for managing controllership activities associated with period end close and Finance reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual close processes and regulatory reporting. A few critical activities include General Accounting, Statutory & Financial Reporting and Intercompany Processing & Reconciliations. Overview The GL Accountant collaborates with Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance across accounting processes, supporting timely close and reliable financial information for internal and external stakeholders. Duties And Responsibilities Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports, Annual Financial Statements and any other internal or external reports required, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Assist in transition of GL functions into and out of the CFS. Develop new and streamline existing processes and systems to ensure efficient delivery of information to internal and external stakeholders. Be an effective team player who drives efficiency and continuous improvement within the department. Prepare Monthly Financial Reports and trend reports; prepare, analyze and post General Ledger journal entries. Prepare accurate and timely GL account reconciliations at month end. Calculate, post and analyze monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring items are accurately captured. Review and reconcile inter-company accounts, communicating with other Abbott locations worldwide. Prepare multi-currency bank reconciliations and variance analyses; update standard costs as required. Provide information to management and other departments as required. Support in transition of functions to other locations into the GBS. Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly corporate packages.
