HV/ Grid Engineer, PH

Due to business expansion, we are seeking a HV/ Grid Engineer, PH based in the Philippines , reporting to the Associate Director, Electrical Engineering in the Utility Scale department.

1. Supervise and oversee the daily electrical operations of the project, ensuring compliance with LR’s specifications and requirements, reviewing progress, and liaising with the Associate Director, Electrical Engineering to monitor costs.
2. Support project development in permitting processes and coordinate with utility services and administration.
3. Create and manage electrical designs during upstream phases (collection system, electrical networks, grid connection TL, substation) and provide technical inputs for wind and solar project designs.
4. Manage consultants involved in electrical design, grid connection, etc., supporting development and construction activities.
5. Manage suppliers (transformers, power cables, etc.) and contractors related to electrical scope and interfaces.
6. Coordinate electrical design and engineering activities to ensure construction aligns with design and specifications, with support from the Owner Engineer if applicable.
7. Prepare bidding documents, evaluate bids, and participate in drafting, negotiating, and signing contracts.
8. Estimate tender costs to optimize contract expenses.
9. Monitor and verify legal documents and procedures during development and construction phases, ensuring timely project COD licensing.
10. Coordinate with external stakeholders such as clients, utility companies, NGCP, local authorities, and internal teams to secure necessary approvals.
11. Manage team schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
12. Supervise electrical consultants and contractors.
13. Conduct safety and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with LR standards.
14. Review designs, drawings, and site reports, maintaining quality control procedures.
15. Identify and mitigate potential problems and risks.
16. Assist in negotiating contracts and securing permits and licenses.
17. Support other development tasks as requested by management.

• Undergraduate or University Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design, supervision, or construction of energy projects (power plants, substations, transmission lines).
• Knowledge of national/international standards, including requirements from NGCP, DOE, and relevant authorities for power projects.
• Understanding of existing and planned power systems in the Philippines.
• Experience with project/contract management and electrical contractors or integrators.
• Intermediate skills in electrical cost planning, estimating, and analysis.
• Good knowledge of electrical equipment, materials, construction, and installation regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and on-site supervision experience.
• Understanding of regulations and technical requirements for electrical components in renewable energy projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent English communication skills, personable, and a team player.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project) and CAD.
• Motivated, self-starter, willing to learn and develop new skills.
