Responsibilities Analyzing financial Statements (FS) to ensure accuracy and compliance generally accepted to accounting practices. Compiling financial data, creating reports and analyzing the financial health of the company Assisting staff members in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports Identifying potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities. Liaising with department heads to ensure that each department remains within the budget Accurately preparing tax returns and ensuring that company taxes are paid in a timely manner Performing reconciliations of general ledger accounts Oversee daily transactions (e.g. billings, AP, AR, bank recon, etc.) Manage month end and year-end closing Participate in tax audits and payroll Providing regular updates to management regarding company finances Ensuring that the company maintains compliance with accounting legislation Oversees accounts payables and receivables Enforcing policies and procedure that keep the company in compliance with financial regulations Assisting staff members in the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting reports Identifying potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities. Oversee daily transactions (e.g. billings, AP, AR, bank recon, etc.) Provide leadership to accounting staff Qualifications Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy Well-versed in QuickBooks applications Knowledgeable in Financial Statements At least 3-5 years supervisory experience, preferable in brokerage, logistics, forwarding industry Knowledgeable of accounting practices and principles Strong management and leadership skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
