Job Role: Bookkeeper
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Salary range: $1,500 - $2,250 AUD/month
Setup: Full-time, permanent remote job, Independent Contractor Agreement
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies directly hire top 5% remote talent in the Philippines. You will be hired directly by the client, typically as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All roles are 100% remote, allowing you to work from home.
Who The Client Is: The company is a team of certified Xero bookkeepers and BAS Agents. We assist small business owners across Australia with BAS returns, bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting records.
Role Overview: We seek a Bookkeeper to ensure smooth operations behind the scenes. Responsibilities include accurate processing of accounts, payroll (including STP), superannuation, payroll tax, and regular reporting. You will also handle IAS and BAS preparation, ensuring timely lodgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely delivery of work within scope
- Adhere to client deadlines and communicate with Manager if issues arise
- Complete client processes accurately and promptly
- Maintain BAS Agent compliance obligations
- Provide feedback for Xero process improvements
- Identify opportunities for client business growth
- Set up Xero files per client requirements
- Maximize HubDoc and DEXT efficiency
- Use Karbon for all tasks
- Pursue professional development to stay industry-relevant
- Perform other project work as needed
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business Management or relevant experience
- Experience in management reporting and analysis
- At least three years Australian bookkeeping experience for small to medium businesses
- Ability to manage multiple clients with shifting priorities
- Xero and Xero payroll certification
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate to high level)
- Preferred: experience with Karbon
- Fast learner and adaptable
- High attention to detail
