Responsibilities Database Design & Implementation – Design and implement database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB best practices. Create data models, schemas, and database management processes tailored to application needs. Performance Optimization - Monitor and tune the performance of databases, including queries and indexing strategies. Implement best practices for data partitioning, sharding, and replication to ensure high availability and scalability. Security & Compliance - Implement security measures to protect sensitive data in compliance with relevant regulations. Monitor access control and audit logs to ensure data security practices are followed. Backup & Recovery – Establish and manage backup and recovery processes for database environments to ensure data integrity and availability. Data Migration & Integration - Plan and execute data migration strategies from on-premises databases or other cloud systems to Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB. Integrate databases with existing applications and services, ensuring seamless data flow. Technical skills Primary skills: Azure-Cosmos-MongoDB & Scripting (Ansible, MongoDB Shell, Python, PowerShell, Terraform) Secondary skills: Oracle, SQL-Server & PostgreSQL Proven experience with Cosmos DB/MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding Analyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers in development and production environments. Performance troubleshooting - performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, Analyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field Certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) or MongoDB (e.g., MongoDB Certified Developer) 7+ years of experience in database engineering or related roles, with a focus on Azure cloud, Cosmos DB, and MongoDB Familiarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, or Azure Data Factory is a plus Seniority level: Not Applicable Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Information Technology Industries: Insurance Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Chubb by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
