Duties and Responsibilities: Management Function: Feasibility Studies and Project Estimates: 1. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of projects. 2. Prepare accurate project estimates, schedules, and budgets to guide project planning and execution. Project Planning and Design: 3. Lead the design and planning of civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure. 4. Develop detailed project plans and timelines, ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational goals. Supervision and Quality Control: 6. Supervise workers and subcontractors on construction sites to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications. 7. Implement quality control procedures to ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Regulatory Compliance: 8. Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. 9. Stay updated on relevant regulations and standards, and incorporate them into project planning and execution. Reporting and Documentation: 10. Prepare and maintain comprehensive project reports, records, and documentation. 11. Communicate project progress, schedules, and any issues to project managers and clients regularly. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: 12. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the construction process. 13. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams to address and mitigate project challenges. Procurement and Coordination: 14. Participate in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for project completion. 15. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Skills and Competencies: Technical Expertise: 1. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and local building codes. 2. Proficiency in civil engineering design software and tools. Project Management: 3. Excellent project management and organizational skills. 4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with diverse project teams. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: 7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 8. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. Leadership and Supervision: 9. Proven ability to supervise and lead project teams effectively. 10. Promote work integrity and values within the team. Educational/Experience Background: Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. 2. Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred. Experience: 3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on construction project management. 4. Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and supervising civil engineering projects.
