This role ensures that solar projects meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards while balancing cost-effectiveness and constructability. The PV Designer works closely with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to deliver complete solar designs for residential, commercial, and utility‑scale projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and prepare solar PV system designs , including single‑line diagrams, layouts, cable schedules, and equipment specifications. Perform system sizing and energy yield calculations using industry‑standard software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, SketchUp). Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, utility interconnection requirements, and international standards (NEC, IEC, NFPA, etc.). Conduct shading analysis, site assessments, and load calculations to optimize system performance. Prepare and review bill of materials (BOM) and provide technical support for procurement. Coordinate with structural, electrical, and civil engineers for integration of PV systems into overall project design. Support permitting and interconnection applications by preparing required drawings and documents. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning , including field visits when necessary. Continuously research and adopt new solar technologies, materials, and best practices.
