Overview

WTW is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team. We are looking for the very best talent to accelerate our AI journey, and if you are passionate about what you do and welcome new challenges, we want to meet you. This is a full-time role reporting to the Global Architecture and Communities of Practice (Architecture & CoP) Leader.

What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, maintain, and support high-quality in-house software build systems for Enterprise class software
  • Design and maintain automated pipelines to continuously deliver value to clients
  • Provide design, implementation guidance and tutoring as necessary to other team members in best practices, tool use, and DevOps principles
  • Design, train, and implement source code control management best practices
  • Create and maintain automated build/release scripts and plans
  • Work independently and within project teams to provide guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders and management for risk remediation
  • Communicate effectively with members of software development and other project-related groups to ensure processes and project objectives are met
  • Contribute to and review ongoing improvements of the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for DevOps best practices
  • Requires some after-hours release support, so a flexible time schedule is required
Qualifications
  • 8 to 10 years of Information Technology experience
  • 4 years of experience as a DevOps/SCM engineer, or in a position with similar skill sets and responsibilities
  • Experience building .NET applications using build tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, MSBuild
  • Experience deploying applications in a CD fashion (Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Github Actions, etc.)
  • Experience using a scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Desire to learn (technologies, processes, efficiencies)
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform or similar
  • Strong knowledge of n-tier web applications
  • Knowledge of Desired State Configuration technologies such as DSC, Puppet, Chef, SCCM/SMS
  • Capability to support a software development team’s timelines and targets
  • Ability to be a strong team player and to challenge the status quo when opportunities arise
  • Experience establishing standards and procedures and advocating best practices
  • Familiarity with change management systems and processes
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous Delivery concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical, creative, adaptable, resourceful, innovative, and collaborative
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow through to completion
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to best-in-class processes and procedures
Bonus
  • Experience with Azure supporting IaaS and PaaS software implementations
  • Experience with Cloud Native applications (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Microsoft Certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
    • Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert
