Yourrolewillinclude Undertakingpowersystemsstudies,includinggrid-connection,networkplanning,systemstrengthimpactassessmentandresearchanddevelopment Developingwide-areanetworkandindividualequipmentmodelsinarangeofsimulationtoolsandinparticularPSSEandPSCAD/EMTDC Preparinggridconnectionapplicationdocumentsandtechnicalreports Interfacingwithawiderangeofclientsandotherindustryorganisations Developingtechnicalsolutionstocomplexnetworkandconnectionissues Whatarewelookingforfromyou? You’llhaveagenuinepassionforre-imaginingproblemsandcontinuouslearningtohelpshapethefuture. Thisrolewillrequireanadequateunderstandingofelectricalengineeringandpowersystemstheoryrelatingtoelectricitytransmission,distributionandgeneration,andassociatedcontrolandprotectionprinciples. Education/ExperienceandOtherSkills: ABachelor'sorMasterofElectricalEngineeringdegreeandaPhDdegreewillbefavourable Experienceinpowersystemmodellingtools,particularlywithPSCAD,PSS/E,andPowerFactory,willsupportyoursuccessinthisrole Siteandpracticalexperienceinarelevantareaarealsoaplusforthisrole,asisexperienceinpowersystemmodeldevelopment,coding,scriptingandautomation KnowledgeoftheAustralianNationalElectricityRuleandpastexperiencewithAustraliangridconnectionprojects Powersystemanalysisforutility-scalenetworksincludingsteadystateanddynamicsystemstudies ExperiencedworkingwithDigSILENTPowerFactory,PSCAD,PSS/E,andtheabilitytoguideandmentoryoungerteammembers ThoroughunderstandingofthegeneratorconnectionprocessinAustralia(Chapter5and5A)andtheobligationsofeachparty(NSPs,AEMO,Proponentetc) Knowledgeableinoneormoregeneratortechnologiessuchassynchronous(steam,hydro,gasetc)orasynchronous(solarPV,wind,BESSetc) Demonstratedsignificantpost-graduationexperienceforSeniorEngineersandLeadEngineer Aboutus We’vere-imaginedengineering.
