Join to apply for the Senior Legal Counsel role at HSBC . We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel. In This Role You Will Provide legal support to business initiatives and expansion in relation to HSBC’s Alternative Investments business and ensure legal risks are identified, reported and mitigated. Legal advisor to ASP Alternative Investments business team – managing and mitigating legal risks in relation to the asset management business, including funds, alternative investments, segregated mandates, intermediary and platform distribution, cross border distribution and marketing, operational and financial counterparty arrangements etc. The lawyer will be based in Hong Kong and assist in‑country lawyers with documentation review, advice in relation to the legal issues arising out of the asset management/alternative investments business. Manage business stakeholders based in Hong Kong and Singapore and in other ASP countries as needed. Support the Regional Head of Asset Management Legal with legal risk management, global and regional projects and initiatives. Act as delegate for the Regional Lead Asset Management on appropriate committees and governance forums where required for Alternative Investments matters. To Be Successful You Will Need Up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of developments, market or operational practices and risks in the alternative investments sector, able to advise business on a wide range of issues to support the growth of the alternative investments business in Asia, in particular, related to sustainable and alternative investments offerings and distribution, investment and client negotiations. Communication and inter‑personal skills, innovation skills and willingness to learn and drive implementation of new ideas and technology in legal works to enable the business and legal function fit for the future.
