Senior QA Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Senior QA Engineer to join our startup QA team and play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. Reporting to the QA Lead, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and automating tests for Web and API-based applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across different countries and cultures to deliver high-quality software in a dynamic, Agile-driven environment.

• Test Strategy : Analyse project requirements to define comprehensive test strategies, including detailed test plans, effort estimates, and testing schedules.
• Test Planning : Design and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
• Test Execution : Execute test cases across functional, regression, performance, and security testing. Ensure thorough test coverage using both manual and automated testing methodologies.
• Defect Management : Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as Jira, ensuring clear documentation and timely resolution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with diverse, cross-functional teams—including software engineers, product managers, and QA engineers—across multiple time zones to ensure product quality.
• Agile Coordination : Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to align QA activities with development goals.
• Database Testing : Validate data accuracy and consistency through SQL and NoSQL queries, including hands-on work with databases like MongoDB.
• System Integration Testing : Validate seamless integration and performance across microservices-based architectures.
• Process Improvement : Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve QA efficiency through process optimization, test automation, and adoption of QA best practices across performance, security, and test management.
• Test Management Tools : Utilize test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or HP ALM to organize test assets, track execution, and report progress.
• Documentation : Document QA processes, test results, and key findings in Confluence to enhance knowledge sharing, traceability, and team alignment.
• Test Automation : Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web and API testing using Selenium and TestNG, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bamboo) to accelerate and stabilize release cycles.

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including manual and automated testing
• Proven ability to work with diverse teams across different countries and cultures.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Experience with multi operating systems environments (Windows and Linux)
• Networking knowledge (SWITCHING, ROUTING, DHCP, NAT, VPN) – CCNA Preferred
• Experience with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox or XenServer)
• Hands-on experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Git and TestRail.
• Proficient in performance and security testing tools and techniques.
• Knowledgeable in microservices architecture and testing methodologies.
• Experience in test automation tools and frameworks like Selenium and TestNG.
• Familiarity with integrating automation tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• ISTQB or other software testing certifications
• Experience with cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)
