Job Role: Accountant/Bookkeeper
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Salary range: $1,500AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you'll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

For this role, you will be hired by the client as a full-time employee with an expectation of exclusivity (not working for other companies). We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home
Exclusivity Requirement:
This is a full-time, dedicated role. The selected candidate will be expected to work exclusively with our client for the duration of the engagement. Candidates actively seeking or working with additional clients will not be considered. Please note that a background check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
Who The Client Is:
Our client is a boutique advisory firm focused on helping professional service businesses and their clients navigate complex lending needs. They take a highly strategic approach to structuring debt, offering solutions that go well beyond standard lending services.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant with at least 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience to support our office operations. This role will involve a broad range of responsibilities including invoice entry, payroll, reporting, and budgeting.
The ideal candidate will have experience with MYOB Premier, strong proficiency in Excel (including formulas), and a solid understanding of Australian payroll and tax laws.
Key Responsibilities:

• Process and enter invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Manage commission payments for sales representatives
• Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets with complex formulas
• Handle payroll processing in compliance with Australian laws
• Prepare and submit BAS (Business Activity Statements)
• Generate monthly financial reports
• Oversee debt collection processes
• Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting
• Ensure compliance with Australian tax and payroll regulations
• Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in MYOB Premier
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including use of formulas
• Proven experience with Australian payroll and tax laws
• Experience preparing BAS and monthly financial reports
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with an Australian company Understanding of the telecommunications industry
  

Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

• Be available for meetings and collaboration during core (AEST or PHT) business hours
• Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
• Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as "Independent Contractor")
