Administers the operations of computer systems related to UNIX & Windows operating systems, servers, virtualization and Cloud technologies.

What will your job look like?

  • Builds and maintains web, virtual, and client server environments for the enterprise.
  • Maintains the operations of all virtual, web, and client and server systems to ensure availability.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any IT service issues related to operating systems and servers; partners with the other infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve related issues.
  • Leverages optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of all computer systems.
  • Implements and maintains a systems business impact assessment to prioritize system recovery in the event of a failure.
  • Trains the technical support team on solving common systems-related problems.
  • Builds and implements software standards for operating systems, servers and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Works with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills.
  • Evaluates new technologies to meet business needs or to solve business problems.
  • Manages and leads Root Cause Analysis, Lessons Learned and prevention processes to provide high standard deliverables that meet SLA (Service Level Adherence) and ensure CSAT ( Customer Satisfaction).
  • Devise and implement the policies for systems.
  • Performs Server performance & Capacity Management in order to maintain the sizing requirements for customers.
  • Leads and builds team knowledge capabilities and versatility and variety of personal skills; Team Management (relevant for group leaders only).
  • Researches new technologies and leverages optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.
  • Other duties in some cases may include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects.

All you need is...

  • Sound knowledge of administering at least one UNIX platform ( LINUX, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX)
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of hardware administration ( Physical servers , Enclosures)
  • Basic knowledge of storage and networking
  • Containerization technologies RHOCP
  • GitOps
