Job Description

We are responsible for building and delivering cloud-based banking environments that are fully operationally ready, ensuring a seamless transition to Run teams and long-term stability of Avaloq platforms.

We are looking for a Cloud Application Platform Delivery Engineer (Kubernetes) to join our collaborative Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery Unit (APAC & UK). In this role, you will implement, configure, and deliver application platforms running on Kubernetes, working closely with architecture and automation teams to transform approved designs into fully deployed, integrated, and production-ready solutions within defined project timelines.

Application Platform Implementation & Delivery

• Build and deliver application environments on Kubernetesplatforms
• Deploy and configure containerized workloads within cloud-based environments (OCI preferred)
• Implement application platforms using Avaloq Environment Modeling (EM), leveraging Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Ensure application environments are provisioned and configured through standardized EM blueprints and automation frameworks
• Configure runtime environments, networking, and integration with platform components
• Ensure environments are delivered in a consistent, automated, and repeatable manner aligned with Avaloq standards
• Deliver production-ready application platforms prepared for handover to Run/Operations teams

Application Configuration & Integration

• Configure and optimize application runtime environments
• Support integration of application components with middleware, databases, and external services
• Implement deployment patterns and best practices for containerized applications
• Ensure application configurations comply with security, performance, and operational standards

Operational Readiness & Transition

• Validate delivered application environments against operational, security, and performance requirements
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting configurations (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)
• Support performance validation and readiness testing prior to go-live
• Prepare and deliver handover documentation to Run/Operations teams
• Support go-live and stabilization phases

Project Delivery Execution

• Execute delivery tasks in line with project scope, timelines, and quality expectations
• Work closely with architecture, automation, and project management teams
• Identify and resolve delivery blockers and technical dependencies
• Provide accurate progress tracking, effort estimates, and status updates

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or IT, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience working with containerized applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms
• Strong understanding of containerization and application deployment patterns
• Experience with cloud platforms (OCI preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable)
• Proficiency with Linux systems and shell scripting
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana)
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
