Overview

AR Collector (6-Month Term)

Location: Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines. This is a six-month term role with responsibilities spanning accounts receivable, general accounting, compliance, and system enhancements.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable: Send updated customer statements of account (SOA) weekly; perform collection follow-up on outstanding invoices and related withholding tax certificates; achieve required collection follow-up via calls or emails per week; reconcile customer balances and provide timely feedback on reconciliation results; monitor and prepare periodic collection reports for management; prepare collection letters and assist with demand letters as needed; understand the nature of billed transactions and related documents/system records (e.g., journal entries); prepare customer payment details; perform daily cash application (DEP) for all customer payments in Expo accounting; escalate unresolved billing/collection concerns to Operations, Sales, and Account Management.
  • General Accounting: Carry out overall general accounting functions (e.g., Fixed Assets, Period Closing, Bookkeeping, Monthly and Statutory reporting); assist with audits (BIR, Year-end statutory, CHQ Audit); ensure timely GL account reconciliation and output; supervise timely and proper work from the team.
  • Compliance: Assist in completing and submitting audit requirements.
  • Systems: Be open to implementing system changes and enhancements; propose system/process improvements.
Qualifications Education and Experience
  • 4+ years of accounting-related qualification
  • Relevant experience in billing & collection cycle
  • Relevant experience in audit and compliance
Knowledge
  • Accounting and finance knowledge
  • Knowledge of local tax laws
  • Global logistics industry knowledge
Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel formulas and pivot tables
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate at different levels of the organization
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Leadership orientation and ability to drive change
