Our client is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join our Financial Planning team and support Australian Financial Advisers in delivering high-quality, compliant and timely financial advice.

This is a hands-on paraplanning role suited to someone who enjoys the technical side of financial advice, takes ownership of their work and can manage multiple advice files within a structured workflow. The successful candidate will work closely with Advisers, the Paraplanning team and Financial Planning Administration across the advice process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality Statements of Advice (SOAs), Records of Advice (ROAs) and associated advice documentation.
  • Translate adviser strategies into clear, accurate and compliant advice documents.
  • Complete strategy preparation and financial modelling across superannuation, retirement, investments and insurance.
  • Undertake product comparisons, strategy and technical research as required.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and debriefs with Advisers and proactively identify gaps, inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Complete required paraplanning quality and compliance checks and appropriately escalated non-standard advice matters.
  • Take ownership of allocated work through to completion, maintaining accurate workflow status and communicating early where dependencies may affect delivery.
  • Work closely with the Paraplanning and Financial Planning Administration teams and contribute to training, workflow discussions and continuous improvement.

Top 3 Must-Have Skills & Experience

1. Australian Paraplanner Experience

Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting Australian Financial Advisers and preparing SOAs/ROAs. Ideally, we are seeking candidates with 3+ years of Australian paraplanning experience, although I am prepared to consider an exceptionally strong candidate with slightly less experience.

2. Strong Modelling / Technical Capability

Strong practical IFF or Xplan experience together with demonstrated financial modelling, research and strategy across superannuation, retirement, investments and insurance. Experience with Omnium, ProductRex, Xtools+ and similar Australian financial planning tools is highly regarded. IFF experience is beneficial but is not a hard screening requirement.

3. Quality, Ownership & Communication

Exceptional attention to detail, strong written and verbal English, and the demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple advice files and deadlines. Candidates must be proactive in communicating with Advisers where information or strategy clarification is required rather than waiting until a deadline is approaching.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Australian advice processes, compliance obligations and financial products.
  • Financial planning qualifications and/or RG146 are highly regarded.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working autonomously within a team structure.
  • Able to prioritise competing deadlines without compromising accuracy or document quality.
