About UsAvvoka is a fast-growing legal technology scale-up specializing in document automation. Our platform helps law firms and in-house teams draft, negotiate, and manage contracts more efficiently. We’re trusted by leading global brands — from Magic Circle law firms like AO Shearman to global franchises like HBO. — and have supported everything from billion-dollar transactions to international franchise deals.
We’re growing quickly, evolving from a bootstrapped start-up to scale-up, with 60% growth in headcount and over 70% organic revenue growth in the past year - so come join us on building a culture that’s innovative, collaborative, and inclusive.
Who You AreYou are a detail-oriented and methodical Manual QA Tester with a passion for delivering high-quality digital experiences. With hands-on experience testing web applications, you have a sharp eye for edge cases and a natural curiosity that drives you to explore beyond the obvious. You’re comfortable using tools like GitLab, clear in your written communication, and thrive in collaborative environments where you can work closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA professionals to ensure a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities- Manual Testing Execution: Execute structured functional and exploratory tests across new and existing features. Perform thorough regression testing prior to releases to ensure stability. Test across varying client configurations and UI redesigns to confirm consistent performance.
- Bug Identification and Reporting: Accurately reproduce, log, and track bugs using GitLab. Write clear and detailed bug reports, including reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and relevant screenshots or logs. Collaborate with developers and testers to validate fixes and confirm resolution.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to clarify feature requirements and raise concerns. Participate in QA reviews and daily stand-ups to share progress and blockers. Contribute to discussions around quality standards and feature readiness.
- Documentation and Test Coverage: Maintain lightweight, up-to-date documentation on test coverage, scenarios, and known issues. Flag gaps in coverage and work with the team to address them. Track and document regressions, retests, and fixes in an organised manner. Provide suggestions for improving QA processes and workflows. Share feedback on tools, practices, and areas of risk. Help shape the team’s approach to what we test and how we test it.
The ideal candidate could have:
- Strong experience in manual QA testing (preferably for web applications).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies or edge cases.
- Clear written English communication skills, especially for reporting bugs and writing documentation.
- While the role is based in Manila, some overlap with UK (GMT) working hours is preferred.
The desirable candidate could have:
- Experience working with issue tracking systems such as GitLab.
- A collaborative mindset and comfort working within cross-functional teams.
- An interest in improving QA processes and contributing to a high-performance testing culture.
In addition to the technical and professional skills, there are certain core attributes we value across all roles:
- Adaptability in dynamically evolving settings
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with ownership
- A collaborative spirit, supporting and mentoring others
If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway — you might be just the candidate we’re looking for.
