Responsibilities- Lead the day-to-day activities of the Security Operations team including threat detection, incident response, triage, escalation, and remediation.
- Monitor security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, SOAR, DLP) to detect and respond to security threats across the organization.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-severity incidents.
- Establish and maintain incident response protocols, ensuring adherence to SLAs and documentation standards.
- Supervise and mentor Security Analysts and Engineers; conduct regular coaching, training, and performance reviews.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and schedules to maintain 24/7 coverage, if applicable.
- Develop onboarding and upskilling programs for new and existing team members.
- Continuously review and enhance SOC playbooks, detection rules, and response procedures.
- Identify opportunities for automation using scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
- Ensure SOC activities are aligned with security policies, regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and business requirements.
- Support audit and compliance requests by providing relevant documentation and evidence.
- Define and report on SOC metrics such as MTTD, MTTR, false positive rate, and incident volumes.
- Provide regular operational updates and incident reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Work closely with IT, application, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and compliance teams to drive end-to-end incident resolution and continuous improvement.
- Participate in tabletop exercises, red/blue team engagements, and threat modeling activities.
