Technical Operations Specialist

Overview We’re seeking a dependable and hands-on Technical Operator with at least 5 years of IT operations experience to manage core infrastructure across multiple business entities. This is a delivery-focused, execution-first role covering account provisioning, device lifecycle management, HRIS automation (e.g., Rippling), and onboarding triage. You’ll ensure systems run efficiently, streamline repetitive work through automation, and collaborate with leadership on key architecture and security decisions. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, detail-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments, maintaining operational uptime and smooth employee onboarding across several organizations. Job Highlights Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $7.1 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week Schedule: Mon- Fri 9am-6pm PST Client Timezone: Pacific Time (Las Vegas) Work Arrangement: Work from home Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position with an Independent Contractor arrangement, selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are hourly and depend on performance in the application process. Responsibilities Provision and deprovision employee accounts across core systems (Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Cloudflare, and other SaaS platforms). Configure and maintain permission matrices and role templates, enforcing least-privilege access without unnecessary complexity. Implement and manage HRIS workflows (e.g., Rippling access flows), including integrations and payroll-linked automations. Oversee the entire device lifecycle — order, track, image, ship, and retire laptops while maintaining accurate asset records. Build lightweight automations using Zapier, Make, or simple scripts to streamline provisioning, notifications, and approvals. Create concise runbooks and Loom tutorials for onboarding, offboarding, and key operational workflows. Maintain automated offboarding checklists to reduce security risks. Provide first-level desktop and remote troubleshooting , escalating complex issues to ITSM or senior technical teams as needed. Produce weekly executive snapshots summarizing provisioning status, asset inventory, and key blockers. Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards across entities. Must-Have Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT operations, systems administration, or technical operations experience supporting distributed teams. Proven ability to work with teams across U.S. or Pacific time zones . Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to produce clear documentation and video explainers. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom , and HRIS platforms such as Rippling (or similar). Strong understanding of device lifecycle management and MDM tools (Google MDM, Jamf, Intune, or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to build and maintain small-scale automations (Zapier/Make, Rippling API, or simple scripting). Nice-to-Have Skills Familiarity with SSO/SCIM systems (Google SSO, Okta, OneLogin, Auth0). Basic scripting in Bash or Python , including lightweight CI for automation scripts. Experience supporting multi-domain or multi-entity environments .
