Accounting Assistant

Purpose

Maintain a general ledger and review financial statements for accuracy before preparing reports that will assist senior management in making informed decisions about upcoming projects or years' budgets. Responsible for keeping track and recording all transactions within a company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
Prepare and file tax returns
Enter accounting related information into business logs
Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy
Organize and update financial records
Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
Perform monthly bank settlements
Prepare documentation for external auditors.
Collect payment from customers and accurately record it into the system
Create reports and balance sheets that document overall profits and losses
Update client accounts based on payment or contact information
Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors
Analyzing workflow processes
Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
Ensuring bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
Processing due invoices for payments
Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
Qualifications/ Requirements of the job:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
At least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read and analyze financial reports
