Senior Cost and Commercial Manager – Workspace Experience and Operations (GCOO) Apply for this role at HSBC. This position is responsible for cost and commercial management across the Workspace Experience and Operations function. Principal Responsibilities Strategy and Framework Development: Define and implement strategies, frameworks, and tools for managing budgets, purchase orders, change requests, invoices, and non-budgeted supplier spend. Budget Oversight and Approval: Provide oversight and advise regional Directors on approval of global annual budgets, ensuring adherence to the contractually committed Description of Services (DoS) and appropriate cost control. Change Control Notices (CCNs): Serve as first financial approver for CCNs impacting DoS and global/regional budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives. Budget vs. Actuals Management: Maintain global oversight of budget versus actual expenditure, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize financial performance. Operational and Capital Expenditure Management: Manage Opex and Capex related to third‑party suppliers, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources. Central Fee Management: Simplify the model of allocating and assigning central fees; monitor and assign recharge values to markets each year. Supplier Relationship Management: Collaborate with suppliers to drive value, identifying cost‑saving opportunities and efficient financial control processes. Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify emerging financial risks related to supplier costs and support resolution of issues to safeguard budgetary integrity. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to provide insights into supplier cost management, supporting decision‑making. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with finance leads, procurement teams, supplier teams and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective supplier cost management strategies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA preferred. Experience in finance, accounting, cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis. Experience in commercial management desirable. Proficiency in financial software/tools such as Excel, SAP, Oracle. Strong analytical and financial analysis skills. Understanding of financial regulations, tax and cross‑border payments. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and problem‑solving abilities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
