Management Event | Health, Safety and Environment Officer

Overview

Position: Certified Safety Officer IV | Location: Eastwood, Libis Quezon City | Work setup: Onsite

Your Role

As Certified Safety Officer IV, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's full compliance with Philippine Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and environmental regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE programs and initiatives across all Philippine entities, promoting a strong safety culture, and minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Health & Safety Compliance (OSH Standards):

• Ensure strict adherence to the DOLE OSH Standards and other relevant OSH laws and regulations in the Philippines.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive OSH programs, policies, and procedures (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Personal Protective Equipment, Fire Safety).
• Identify, assess and mitigate safety risks and environmental risks; regularly review control measures.
• Investigate all workplace incidents, determine root causes, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence; prepare incident reports for DOLE and internal reporting.
• Maintain, monitor and review health, safety and environment ticketing system.
• Organize and conduct regular OSH trainings for all employees, supervisors, and contractors.
• Undertake audits of OSH training and compliance requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Manage and maintain all OSH-related records, permits, and documentation as required by law.
• Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with OSH standards.
• Serve as the company\'s designated Safety Officer; oversee the safety committee and ensure meetings align with OSH requirements.
• Ensure provision and proper use of PPE across all operations.
• Ensure safety notice boards contain mandatory notices and current safety information.

Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with PH environmental laws and regulations, including RA 9275, RA 8749, RA 6969, RA 9003, PD 1586, and relevant DENR orders.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management programs (e.g., waste management, wastewater treatment, air emission control, energy conservation).
• Contribute to environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports to DENR (e.g., SMR, Pollution Control Officer Report).
• Manage environmental permits and licenses, ensuring timely renewal and compliance with conditions.
• Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among employees.
• Serve as the company\'s Pollution Control Officer (PCO), if qualified and necessary.
• Contribute to annual GHG emissions reporting and assist with client GHG data reporting as required.

HSE Program Rollout & Culture Building:

• Participate in the development and rollout of company-wide HSE strategies within all Philippine entities.
• Promote a proactive HSE culture through awareness campaigns and employee engagement.
• Collaborate with departments to integrate HSE requirements into operations and project planning.
• Communicate HSE performance, challenges, and improvements to management and staff.
• Stay updated on PH OSH and environmental laws; advise management on adjustments.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for fire, medical emergencies, chemical spills, and other incidents.

What You Need Non-negotiables

• Completed the mandatory forty-hour BOSH training from OSHC or equivalent accredited program.
• Completed an additional aggregate of 80 hours of advanced/specialized OSH training relevant to the industry.
• Actual experience as Safety Officer IV for at least four years in a BPO setting.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in environmental compliance or related fields.
• Strong understanding of Philippine OSH standards and compliance requirements.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in environmental compliance or related fields.
• Bachelor\'s Degree.
