Role Summary
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production to join our client’s design and manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, remote environment. WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time

Essential Functions

• Perform the following technical drafting and design documentation duties:
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes
  • Maintain organized documentation of all revisions, drawings, and technical records
• Perform the following furniture production coordination duties:
  • Collaborate with furniture designers and production teams to ensure technical drawings align with design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and material specifications
  • Review and adjust designs for structural integrity, ergonomics, and material efficiency
  • Provide technical support during prototyping, fabrication, and installation phases
  • Troubleshoot design or material issues that arise during production
• Perform the following quality assurance and compliance duties:
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety and quality standards, including load requirements and material tolerances
  • Perform checks on all drawings before release to ensure dimensional accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to verify component compatibility and cost-efficiency
• Perform the following project support and communication duties:
  • Participate in design reviews and project planning meetings to provide technical input and updates
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and suppliers to meet project timelines and deliverables
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending design or process optimizations
    

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry preferred
• Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production
• Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus
• Experience working with global or distributed teams is a plus
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software
• Ability to interpret architectural and design drawings and translate them into shop drawings
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
