Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training sessions for seafarers of all ranks, both in-office and on-board vessels.
- Carry out on-board environmental audits to ensure compliance with MARPOL, ISM, PSC, Class, and other statutory requirements
- Develop and deliver structured training modules tailored to various ranks and vessel types
- Support the Group’s initiatives on environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the SECAT Team to identify training needs and close compliance gaps.
- Travel as required by Director - Environmental Compliance for audits, training, and investigations on-board vessels.
- Work effectively within a multicultural environment and be willing to interact with individuals from various nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrate a strong team-oriented approach to work, promoting collaboration and mutual support within the department and across teams.
- Applicants must be Filipino citizens
- Must hold a Captain’s Class A License or a Chief Engineer’s License
- Minimum 5 years’ sea experience on tanker vessels, including at least:
- Minimum 5 years’ sea experience on tanker vessels.
- 3 years in a senior deck officer position.
- 1 year as Master or Chief Engineer.
- Experience on large tankers (Aframax, MR, or Handy sizes) is preferable.
- Training experience (on board and/or ashore) will be considered an advantage.
- Self- Starter who has the ability to work independently as well as within a global team environment
- Strong communication skills and an eagerness to teach, as the role requires training seafarers across different nationalities and ranks
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
- Flexibility to travel for on-board vessel training & audits.
- Sound knowledge of MARPOL, ISM Code, PSC, Class, and other statutory requirements.
- Must have the ability to adapt and communicate effectively across diverse cultural contexts.
- Strong team player with a collaborative work ethic.
- Reports directly to Director - Environmental Compliance, Scorpio Group.
- Position is based at 88 Aces Crewing Management, Manila (regular office attendance required).
- Coordinate and work with the SECAT Auditing Team as well as Optimum & 88 Aces personnel for MARPOL developed Training Modules delivery and provide feedback as received from trainees.
- Responsible for delivering training to seafarers, conducting audits, and supporting compliance initiatives.
- Previous Superintendent, Auditor, or Shore Office experience is desirable but not a requirement.
