An Accounting Assistant should be well-organized, efficient, have an aptitude for numbers and high level of accuracy. Her duties include clerical tasks, such as filing and answering telephones, filing, reception, paperwork, fact-checking as well as performing basic bookkeeping tasks, assisting with payroll processing, and assisting in preparing financial documents, compiling and reviewing financial information, financial paperwork and maintaining records.

• Maintaining digital and physical financial record, ensuring that records are complete and current.
• Recording information, processing, and filing forms such as invoices, reimbursement, purchase orders, and others.
• Preparing checks, bank deposits, and vouchers.
• Updating ledgers, researching, and resolving discrepancies.
• Performing basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
• Responding appropriately to a client and internal requests.
• Responsible for assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable functions as well as maintaining accurate records on financial data in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Must know how to handle confidential information sensitively along with having organization skills when dealing with multiple tasks on any given day.
• Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
• Create and update expense reports
• Process reimbursement forms
• Enter financial transactions into internal databases
• Check spreadsheets for accuracy
• Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
• Review and file payroll documents
• Participate in quarterly and annual audits.

Requirements and skills
• Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk (At least 1 to 2 years experience)
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
• Familiarity with finance regulations
• Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
• Organization skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• BSc/Ba in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
