A global procurement manager is responsible for developing and executing global procurement strategies to acquire goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy Development and Implementation: Develop and implement global procurement strategies aligned with the organization's overall goals, considering factors like cost, quality, and risk.
  2. Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage ongoing relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  3. Cost Management and Optimization: Analyze spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
  4. Contract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate favorable contract terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  6. Team Leadership and Development: Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  7. Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement.
  8. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze procurement data, and report on performance against targets.
  9. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and legal, to understand their needs and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
  10. Market Research and Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Proven leadership and management skills to lead and motivate a team.
  • Supply Chain Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles and practices.
  • International Trade Knowledge: Familiarity with international trade regulations and best practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant Degree: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of end-to-end strategic procurement experience, with proven results in an international environment, including creating and implementing procurement strategies and policies.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with global supply, complex negotiations, contractual terms, supplier assessment, stakeholder management, and project management.
