Based in Cebu and reporting to the Finance Services Team Lead (TL) – Tax, under the GSSC Enterprise Services (ES) tower.

This role will assist the TL and the Finance Services Operations Manager – Tax (OM) in ensuring that QBE’s tax compliance and reporting obligations are satisfied for all applicable taxes in UK/Europe (income tax, indirect taxes, etc.) for the International - European Operations division (International - EO). This includes assisting with tax audits and providing ad-hoc tax advisory to the broader QBE business, focusing on high complexity and urgent tasks, and/or first-level review roles.

Responsibilities
  1. Act as 1st level reviewer or preparer for high complex/urgent tax tasks.
  2. Supervise team members in completing process tasks and review accuracy of inputs to relevant tax balances.
  3. Perform tax and/or accounting variance analysis and reconciliation, including:
    1. Beginning Balance Reconciliation
    2. Matching and reconciliation of tax balances across reports (e.g., GL/SL Oracle balances to underwriting systems)
    3. Testing for accuracy and completeness of tax bases and rates per country/state
    4. Follow-up on variances in tax balances
    5. Review comments and undertake necessary actions
    6. Assist in resolving outstanding tax matters based on variance analysis
  4. Coordinate with the Team Leader and Operations Manager as the issue resolution champion, focusing on investigation, process improvements, and stakeholder management.
  5. Contribute to refining processes and procedures to enhance tax reporting and control.
