Overview
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role ensures patient safety, proper imaging techniques, and adherence to regulatory standards in a primary care clinic setting.
Responsibilities- Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Care
- Perform X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other radiologic procedures as ordered by healthcare providers.
- Ensure accurate positioning and imaging techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic results.
- Adjust and operate radiology equipment following safety protocols.
- Assist patients in preparation for imaging, ensuring comfort and proper positioning.
- Follow radiation protection guidelines to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Equipment Maintenance & Quality Assurance
- Regularly inspect and calibrate radiology equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) standards.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping
- Accurately document patient information and imaging results in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of images for physician review.
- Maintain accurate records of radiation exposure levels as required by regulations.
- Compliance & Safety Regulations
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal radiology regulations.
- Follow infection control and sterilization procedures for equipment and workspaces.
- Team Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and medical staff to coordinate imaging needs.
- Provide clear communication regarding procedures and results to healthcare providers.
- Educate patients about the imaging process, safety measures, and post-procedure care.
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology.
- Certified and registered with the Philippine Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- PRC Licensed.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, preferably in a clinic or outpatient setting.
- Experience with digital radiography (DR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, radiologic positioning, and radiation physics.
- Proficiency in using X-ray equipment and imaging software.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full-time position based on clinic hours.
- Work in a clinical outpatient setting with occasional patient transport assistance.
- May require weekend shifts based on clinic needs.

KRA: Ensure accurate and high-quality imaging for proper diagnosis.

- Imaging Accuracy Rate – ≥ 98% of images meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Patient Positioning Accuracy – ≥ 99% correct positioning without repeat exposures.
- Repeat X-ray Rate – ≤ 3% (lower repeat rates indicate better imaging quality).
- Turnaround Time for Imaging Procedures – ≤ 15 minutes per patient.
- Patient Satisfaction Score – ≥ 85% (via patient feedback surveys).
2. Equipment Maintenance & Quality Assurance
KRA: Ensure proper operation and maintenance of radiology equipment.
KPIs:
- Equipment Downtime – ≤ 2% operational downtime per month.
- Scheduled Preventive Maintenance Compliance – 100% of maintenance completed on time.
- Radiation Exposure Compliance – 100% adherence to ALARA principles.
- Quality Control Test Pass Rate – ≥ 98% of quality control tests passed.
3. Compliance & Safety Standards
KRA: Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
KPIs:
- Regulatory Compliance Score – 100% adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety standards.
- Incident Report Rate – Zero safety incidents or violations.
- Infection Control Compliance – Zero breaches in sterilization and hygiene protocols.
4. Workflow Efficiency & Productivity
KRA: Optimize workflow and efficiency in the radiology department.
KPIs:
- Average Number of Patients Scanned per Shift – ≥ 95% of target patients scanned.
- Time Taken to Upload & Share Reports – ≤ 10 minutes after imaging.
- Timely Reporting of Critical Findings – 100% of critical findings reported within 15 minutes.
- Coordination with Physicians & Nurses – 100% timely communication regarding imaging needs.
5. Professional Development & Continuous Learning
KRA: Enhance skills and stay updated with advancements in radiology.
KPIs:
- Completion of Required Training & Certifications – 100% of required CEUs completed annually.
- Attendance in Safety & Compliance Meetings – 100% participation in training sessions.
