Job Description For This Role: Mechanical Engineer Assistant with fire protection experience specializes in designing, implementing, and maintaining fire protection systems. Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Assistant - Fire Protection Key Responsibilities: System Design: Develop fire protection system designs, including sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and smoke control systems, in compliance with local and national fire codes. Project Management: Oversee fire protection projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets. Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct risk assessments and analyses to determine fire protection needs for various facilities, considering factors like occupancy type and building layout. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate fire protection systems into building designs. Testing and Maintenance: Implement testing protocols for fire protection systems and perform routine inspections to ensure compliance and functionality. Documentation: Create detailed drawings, specifications, and reports for fire protection systems and maintain records of system designs and modifications. Training: Provide training to staff on fire safety practices and proper use of fire protection equipment. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all fire protection designs comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and standards. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Relevant experience in fire protection engineering or systems design. Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, as well as local fire codes. with Experience in Fire Protection installation Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles and practices. Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
