Role Definition:

The Test Automation Engineer is an individual contributor within the CIO organization. This role supports the development and execution of automated testing strategies aimed at identifying software bugs and quality issues, reducing reliance on manual testing, and improving the consistency and reliability of test outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and regression testing to ensure high test coverage and reliability.
• Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to align automation practices, integrate external tools, and ensure consistent delivery of automation testing outcomes.
• Exhibit strong test management capabilities, including planning, execution tracking, reporting, and aligning automation objectives with business timelines.
• Work closely with engineering teams to assess functional and technical requirements, ensuring automated test outputs are usable and acceptable for release.
• Prepare, implement, and evaluate automated test cases in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Ensure all test automation activities adhere to testing guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory standards.
• Implement performance improvement measures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of test automation services.
• Promote a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture, supporting junior team members and contributing to team capability building.
• Foster a positive digital delivery culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence, while upholding the highest standards of professional conduct and compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
• Lead the performance assurance of the Bank’s IT systems by conducting non-functional test requirement analysis, planning, scenario design, KPI definition, and test case development.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure non-functional requirements are clearly defined, measurable, and testable.
• Execute non-functional testing strategies across complex delivery programs and projects, covering both cloud and on-premise environments.
• Perform system performance bottleneck analysis, recommend tuning strategies, and assist in performance optimization efforts.
• Prepare comprehensive non-functional test reports and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Design and execute API performance and reliability tests, validating throughput, latency, error rates, and stability under varying load conditions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in test automation, with hands-on expertise in tools such as Katalon, Selenium, and scripting languages like Java, Groovy, or Python.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability building.
• Knowledge of banking systems, digital platforms, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Proven experience in performance testing and non-functional testing in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, and other industry-standard tools.
• Solid understanding of performance testing methodologies, including load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing.
• Experience with API testing and backend service validation under various load conditions.
