Job Description
The Probecard Engineer ensures sustained manufacturing performance, cost control, and product quality in probe operations. Probe card management requires dedicated engineering ownership to address increasing complexity in devices, platforms, and production volume. The role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving probe card performance, including insertion life, alignment, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Reduce downtime through proactive monitoring and faster root cause analysis.
- Save costs by extending probecard life and reducing rebuild frequency.
- Improve yield and quality by early detection and correction of probe‑related defects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including probecard design and optimization and implementation of new technologies.
- Serve as key interface across ATO Sites, Production, Engineering, and external vendors to ensure alignment and faster execution of build, repair, and improvement activities.
- Maintain probecard stability and readiness, drive cost reduction and reliability projects, and prevent recurring hardware related issues across multiple platforms and device types.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ECE, ME, CpE, Electro‑Mechanical).
- At least 3 years of experience as Probecard Engineer in the semiconductor/manufacturing industry.
- Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Strong experience in probecard build, repair and maintenance (cantilever and vertical technologies).
- Proficient in probecard analysis, troubleshooting and failure diagnostics.
- Hands‑on experience with probecard alignment, planarity check and needle conditioning.
- Skilled in data analysis and interpretation for yield, contact issues and reliability concerns.
- Ability to support continuous improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives.
