The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animal patients, ensuring their health and well‑being through accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and compassionate client communication. The role involves performing medical, surgical, and dental procedures while maintaining compliance with veterinary standards and clinic protocols. Key Responsibilities Conduct physical examinations and diagnostic tests to assess animal health and identify medical conditions. Prescribe medications, administer vaccinations, and provide preventive care. Perform surgical procedures including spays, neuters, dental extractions, and other soft‑tissue surgeries. Develop and communicate treatment plans to pet owners with empathy and clarity. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records. Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and other staff to ensure efficient clinic operations. Educate pet owners on animal health, nutrition, and preventive care. Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education. Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and ethical standards of veterinary practice. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution. Valid veterinary license in the state of employment. Strong knowledge of animal medicine, surgery, and care. Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Compassionate and caring attitude toward animals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff and clients. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
