Service Advisor

The Service Advisor serves as the main liaison between customers and the service department. Key Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to their vehicle concerns and service needs. Document customer complaints, vehicle issues, and requested services clearly and accurately on job orders. Provide service recommendations, explain technical details in layman’s terms, and obtain customer approvals for work to be done. Coordinate with Service Admins to ensure accurate diagnostics and efficient repair processes. Communicate repair status, cost estimates, and completion times to customers regularly. Review completed work orders with customers, ensuring they understand the services performed and associated costs. Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and solution-oriented manner. Promote and upsell additional services, preventive maintenance, and promotions when appropriate. Maintain service records, warranty claims, and follow-up schedules. Ensure customer satisfaction to foster long-term relationships and repeat business. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a customer service role within the automotive industry. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, repair procedures, and preventive maintenance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work under pressure. Proficiency in service management software and Microsoft Office applications.
