Chief Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team at SotoGrande Hotel in Bauan Batangas. As our Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of all building systems and equipment, ensuring the hotel's facilities run smoothly and meet the highest standards of safety and comfort for our guests.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and oversee the hotel's engineering department, including the supervision and training of maintenance staff

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to prolong the life of the hotel's equipment and systems

• Coordinate and oversee all repair and renovation projects, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within budget

• Monitor energy usage and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs

• Ensure the hotel's facilities comply with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

• Collaborate with other department heads to identify and address any issues that may impact the guest experience

• Participate in the hotel's strategic planning process and provide technical expertise to support the hotel's growth and development

What we're looking for

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Chief Engineer or in a senior engineering management role within the hospitality industry

• Thorough understanding of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety systems

• Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of engineering and maintenance personnel

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and project management skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with hotel management, staff and external vendors

• Proficient in the use of engineering management software and building automation systems
