THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established leader in the insurance and financial services industry, with over 110 years of experience. As specialists in workers’ compensation claims and injury management, they handle personal injury and workers’ compensation insurance claims for thousands of Australian businesses, supporting individuals in their recovery and helping organisations navigate risk and claims processes.

Our team is expanding and looking for an Entity Controller. This role plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency through expert review and management of key financial activities.

This role requires onsite work during the first of 3 months, then shifts to a hybrid setup (twice a week to be on-site), following Australian business hours 6:00AM - 3:00PM Manila.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end/year-end close and prepare accurate consolidated financial statements.
  • Ensure correct revenue recognition and manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Maintain consolidated cash flow forecasts to support planning and liquidity.
  • Oversee tax return filings and ensure compliance with Australian tax laws.
  • Manage audit processes and act as the main contact for auditors and business leaders.
  • Identify inefficiencies and lead projects to streamline finance operations.
  • Delegate tasks, coach accountants, and ensure strong internal controls.
  • Review and update accounting policies; ensure clear SOPs and control checklists.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to support financial accuracy and business goals.

Skills, Experience & Qualification

  • Extensive experience (typically 6+ years) in financial accounting with strong focus on consolidation and financial statement preparation/review.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian tax laws, including practical experience in tax return preparation and review.
  • Must have relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, CA).
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and accrued revenue accounting.
  • Solid experience managing intercompany accounting processes, preparing and managing consolidated cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive process improvements.
  • Has experience in people management with strong stake holder management and communication abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of internal control frameworks and segregation of duties.
  • Ability to challenge conventional processes and contribute to policy innovation.
