Senior Project Manager, Markets & Securities Services Join to apply for the Senior Project Manager, Markets & Securities Services role at HSBC Job Profile The Senior Project Manager will be a driving force behind change initiatives for the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) business. He/She will oversee one or more projects, including all workstreams, as well as having some holistic programme responsibilities. This role requires close collaboration with the project management team, product owners, sales and trading desks, technology teams, and other functional stakeholders across multiple geographies and timezones to ensure the successful delivery across the MSS change portfolio. We are seeking a high calibre professional who is highly organised, diligent with high attention to detail and has a strong work ethic. The candidate will develop and oversee global project plans, gather requirements, analyse processes, create implementation/migration plans, oversee implementation, ensure all business readiness tasks are completed, and ensure delivery meets business and regulatory needs. Experience in Agile ways of working and a continual improvement mindset to drive continuous change and improvements is required. Principal Responsibilities Project Delivery and Control: Shape and lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. Utilise pragmatic application of programme management methodologies. Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation, embedding Objectives and Key Results and alignment to Value Streams. Business Readiness: Work extensively with Product Owners, Tech teams, Front Office and Functions to identify tasks, define and document the implementation plan, ensuring business readiness activities are completed and required training delivered, ensuring compliance with mandatory and regulatory requirements. Process Design: Define and document interim and future state business processes and target operating model to support the day‑to‑day management of the MSS business, enabling safe implementation of changes. Stakeholder Management: Lead delivery through establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with particular Divisions or Business Units. Provide day‑to‑day status and changes. Analyse project status and, when necessary, revise scope, schedule or budget to ensure requirements can be met. Ensure processes and agreed Ways of Working are in place to oversee changes. Challenge teams to deliver creatively. Risk and Governance: Continuously evaluate projects for financial, people risk and regulatory compliance and mitigate. Operate within an appropriate governance framework aligned to the wider Group Governance framework and Change Framework Standards. Management Reporting: Create, track and report project outcomes and risks to management channels, escalating issues as necessary. Requirements Minimum 8 years project management or change management experience, with Markets and Securities Services experience preferred. Management Consultancy experience or equivalent in‑house experience in a financial institution beneficial. Excellent project management analytical and task management skills. Experience working in Agile delivery environment, implementing best practices and uplifting teams. Previous experience delivering large‑scale technology and/or front‑office change in a global team. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines. Ability to operate independently or as part of a team, flexibly taking responsibility. Proven track record building trusted relationships and influencing across business/technology at various levels.
