With high-quality training data, tomorrow’s AI can accurately capture K'iche' vocabulary, grammar, dialectical variations, and cultural context—helping preserve Mayan knowledge and support authentic linguistic interactions. That training data begins with you—we need your expertise to help power the next generation of AI. Responsibilities Converse with the language model in K'iche' across a wide range of topics to verify linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. Document every failure mode, capture reproducible error traces, and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics. Challenge advanced language models on contextual interpretation, tone and meaning, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance. Collaborate with AI training and evaluation teams to refine model reasoning. Qualifications A Master’s degree in Linguistics, Indigenous Studies, Translation, or a related field is ideal. Professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation, or community work signals fit. Clear, metacognitive communication—“showing your work”—is essential. Compensation Pay range $8–$65 per hour, with the exact rate determined after evaluating experience, expertise, and geographic location. As a contractor you will supply a secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
