We have an exciting opportunity for a Precedent Assistant to join Francis Gillman International. This role involves supporting the creation and maintenance of a high volume of precedents and automated documents. Reporting to the Senior Knowledge Lawyer, the Precedent Assistant will work closely with the Knowledge team to create firm-approved documents and correspondence, while also providing administrative support across the team. The position is based in Dumaguete Philippines and requires onsite attendance from Monday to Friday. Responsibilities provide administrative support to the Knowledge team; convert PDF documents to Word format, including recreating all formatting; create, format and update development precedents and internal resource material in accordance with firm style and instructions provided; include drafting notes, versions, options and variable fields in precedents; create workflow project Excel spreadsheets; proofread business development material to ensure it matches the Word precedent exactly; review precedents, including court and government forms, carefully comparing against the approved document or prescribed court/government form; and be a champion for style guide compliance. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate. About you You will ideally have the following skills and experience: strong attention to detail; advanced experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook; advanced experience with PDF editing software such as Adobe Acrobat; experience with Excel desired but not essential; experience working with legal documents; demonstrated capacity to co-ordinate a demanding and varied workload, with a clear ability to meet timelines; well-developed communication skills; the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with team members and the broader firm as well as be able to work autonomously; strong analytical, organisational, time management and written skills; and a proactive, positive and service oriented approach.
