Dispense and prepare medications accurately based on valid prescriptions. Review prescriptions to ensure appropriate dosage, compatibility, and absence of contraindications. Monitor, record, and control the issuance of all medications, including narcotics and antibiotics. Maintain accurate inventory and ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of all pharmaceutical products. Advise physicians, nurses, and patients on drug selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects. Compound and prepare sterile or non-sterile pharmaceutical formulations as needed. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DOH, and FDA regulations on drug management. Participate in the development and implementation of medication safety programs. Provide patient counseling on proper medication use and adherence. Monitor adverse drug reactions and report them through proper channels. Maintain accurate and complete pharmacy records and reports. Supervise pharmacy assistants or aides in the performance of their duties. Conduct periodic stock checks and prepare purchase requisitions for replenishment. Ensure the security and safekeeping of all drugs and medical supplies. Participate in hospital committees related to drug use, infection control, or therapeutics. Stay updated with new drug developments, regulations, and best practices. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Pharmacist and Medical Director. #J-18808-Ljbffr
