The role
You’ll own end-to-end procurement and logistics for Australia and the USA: from turning the forecast into a purchasing plan, through factory pricing and production, to stock landing in the right warehouse at the right time. It’s a hands‑on role for someone who raises the POs themselves and knows the numbers behind them.
Demand and supply planning
- Update the AU and US purchasing plans from the latest sales forecast, monthly or as demand shifts
- Assess stock on hand and on order against forecast by SKU, channel and market; flag shortfalls and overstock early
- Set and maintain reorder points, safety stock and weeks‑of‑cover targets
Procurement and purchase orders
- Raise, issue and track purchase orders with factories and suppliers
- Keep the ERP (Cin7) up to date and accurate on inventory, POs, receipts and landed COGS by SKU
- Reconcile inventory and landed COGS with Finance (Xero) so stock values and margins are right
- Manage packaging, labels and component supply so finished‑goods production is never held up
Supplier and factory management
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms and lead times with contract manufacturers and factories
- Build and maintain landed‑cost models by SKU; find savings in unit cost, freight and duty
- Manage production timelines from PO to ex‑factory, and chase delays before they become stock‑outs
- Work with suppliers on quality standards, specs and pre‑shipment checks
- Source and qualify alternative suppliers to reduce single‑source risk
Inbound logistics and import
- Book and manage inbound sea and air freight from China and other overseas suppliers to our AU and US warehouses
- Manage shipments from ex‑factory to warehouse receipt; track sailings and chase delays
- Own customs clearance, duties and import documentation in both markets
- Coordinate inbound receiving with our 3PLs and check receipts against POs
Reporting
- Report to Finance on inventory spend: committed POs, deposits and balances due, freight and duty, against budget
- Report weekly on stock position, open POs, inbound shipments and risks
- Track supply chain KPIs and landed cost, and feed accurate inventory and cash‑out timing into the cash flow forecast
What success looks like (6–12 months)
- No stock‑outs on top‑selling SKUs
- Purchasing plans updated from forecast on a set monthly rhythm, trusted by Finance and Sales
- Lower landed cost per unit through renegotiated pricing, freight and duty
- Healthier inventory: less aged and excess stock, cash not tied up in slow movers
- Factory orders landing in our warehouses on schedule
- Inventory records that match physical stock across every 3PL
