Primary Responsibilities Establish a high degree of excellence in the Housekeeping Department across all assigned areas of the Hotel. Be specifically concerned with Room Attendants, Floor Supervisors, Public Area Supervisors, Public Area Attendants and Linen Room. In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper will operate the Housekeeping Department and all other areas of responsibility. Work closely with and maintain a high degree of excellence for the Service Department. Be specifically responsible for the standards of all Guest rooms, Suites, Corridors, back-of-the-house storage and linen rooms. Ensure Front-of-the-House public area standards are excellent at all times. Ensure all Supervisors continually inspect assigned areas and have turned in inspections. Ensure effective and complete training is in use and all associates are well trained. Ensure proper key controls are in effect. Take accurate linen inventories per SOP. Take accurate Guest supply inventory every period. Review operating statements and critique unusual surpluses and shortages. Audit and approve schedules, wage projections, wage recaps and payroll. Provide up-to-date job descriptions for all supervisors and associates. Give immediate response to all Guest problems and correspondence. Ensure Lost & Found articles are stored properly and logs are maintained. Ensure all assignments by the Executive Housekeeper are followed through. Ensure effective communications through attending meetings and imparting information at regularly held staff meetings with assistant housekeepers. Review out-of-order rooms daily. Administrative Responsibilities Ensure all reports are prepared completely and on time. Involve Supervisors and Linen Room Attendants in as many administrative functions. Prepare and submit all information necessary for budgeting purposes in the required format. Screens and acknowledges daily work schedules. Ensure efficient manpower allocation according to business volume. Manage time effectively by meeting deadlines on time. Administer personnel action on leaves & overtime requests, disciplinary actions and commendation. Identify and solve problems in a professional manner. Acknowledge logbook and ensure each recorded problem is attended. Handle consumption reports, inventories, lost & found log books according to policies and procedures. Technical Responsibilities Understand and can explain job descriptions of all positions in the Housekeeping Department. Know and understand policies relating to Housekeeping, laundry, and other areas in the Rooms and Guest Services including Engineering and other departments. Recognize good quality products and presentation. Check and improve all service standards established by the company. Provide assistance to the staff when required during peak periods. Maintain grooming standards for all personnel. Conserve energy and water at all times without decreasing guest comfort and cleaning efficiency. Ensure Housekeeping and related departments’ employees can communicate with guests and the fellow employees politely and professionally. Maintain and improve the quality of services and facilities according to the company’s standards at all times. Commercial Responsibilities Communicate effectively with guest, clients, business partners and employees. Be a good sales person to promote hotel’s image and businesses. Participate in community projects or activities to promote the hotel’s image and cooperation to improve community relationship. Represent management team, hotel, and company well with any external guests. Human Resources Responsibilities Coach and counsel all staff when applicable. Provide the most effective training to all housekeeping and related employees regularly. Motivate staff to grow within the company. Develop self to be a better manager at all times. Relationship Reports to Executive Housekeeper. Directs and supervises activities of the Housekeeping and other related employees. Coordinates with other managers for all activities of the hotel. Interacts with clients, guests, government officials, supplies, and other important individuals in the community to promote the hotel. Others Continuous learning through own IDP. Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior. Accountabilities Represent Dusit’s brand and its values at all times, delivering an exceptional guest experience and promoting Thai graciousness. Keep Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions confidential during or after employment. Job Requirements Bachelor degree in Hotel Management or relevant discipline. Minimum of 5 years in supervisory Housekeeping role in a similar capacity, preferably in a 5‑star environment. Knowledgeable in Housekeeping operation and cleaning methods. Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken. Detail‑oriented with a pleasant personality and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
