Overview

Be Well Cycle Mechanic role at Wigan Council. You will maintain the Be Well fleet of cycles, deliver Dr Bike sessions, recycle bikes, and support the wider Be Well team to increase cycling participation. The role supports individuals to make long-term changes in behaviour, focusing on active travel for short journeys.

Hours are in accordance with the needs of the service; regular evening and weekend work are part of the requirements. A full driving licence and use of a vehicle are essential.

Requirements
  • Flexible, able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent cycle maintenance knowledge
  • Valid cycle maintenance qualification

About Us

This role sits within the Strategy and Innovation directorate, based in the Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Activation Team, with a vision to make active travel the preferred choice for short journeys.

Salary: Grade 4, £13,828 - £14,499 per annum; £13.26 - £13.90 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week

Contract: Temporary until 31st March 2027
