Responsibilities The Finance and Accounting Assistant Manager will be responsible for daily bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, assistance with end-of-month close, grant reporting, audit preparation, and other related duties as assigned. They will establish policies and procedures in line with in-house and local government regulations. They will lead a team and support staff in delivering high-quality and efficient finance and accounting services. Competencies Financial Acumen Plans and uses resources efficiently, always look for opportunities to control costs, produces accurate and realistic budgets, monitors and adjusts budgets as required, and contributes to budget planning. Managing Performance & Results Sets challenging and productive goals for the team, and accountable for actions, apply clear and consistent performance standards, provides leadership and motivation, provides resources and support, uses milestones and data to monitor progress, and sets up systems and processes to measure results. Handles performance problems decisively and in a timely way. Managing Technology Awareness, research, and adopt technologies that improve profitability, and works well with technical resources. Planning Develops realistic plans, sets goals, aligns plans with company goals, plans and manages resources, creates contingency plans, and coordinates and cooperates with others. Quality & Process Improvement Attentive to detail and accuracy, committed to excellence, continuously looking for ways to improve, monitors quality levels, finds root causes of quality problems, takes responsibility for, and deals with quality issues. Strives for high-quality performance in self and the team; Delivers timely and accurate results; Resilient when responding to difficult situations.
