About the Role The Performance Improvement Officer plays a vital role in driving organizational excellence by supporting data-driven performance monitoring and continual improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for validating, analyzing, and monitoring the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Quality and Patient Safety Indicators , ensuring that departmental goals are aligned with the hospital’s strategic objectives. The Officer also facilitates business reviews, supports quality improvement projects, and conducts training programs to strengthen a culture of performance, innovation, and patient safety. Key Responsibilities Performance Management Validate and verify the accuracy and completeness of departmental Balanced Scorecard (BSC) data. Ensure timely submission, consolidation, and monitoring of performance metrics. Align departmental BSCs with hospital-wide strategic objectives. Coordinate with departments to address performance gaps and inconsistencies. Facilitate and document quarterly Business Review sessions. Analyze BSC data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. Ensure that action plans are developed and implemented for unmet targets. Quality and Patient Safety Indicators Validate the accuracy and reliability of submitted Quality and Patient Safety Indicator data. Analyze indicator results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Coordinate with departments to develop corrective and preventive actions. Monitor implementation and assess the effectiveness of improvement measures. Continual Improvement Projects (CIP) Assist departments in planning and executing Continual Improvement Projects . Lead or coordinate the annual CIP Competition to promote innovation and a culture of quality. Training and Development Conduct quality and performance-related training sessions, including Patient Safety and CIP orientations . Ensure active participation in required internal and external trainings. Patient Safety Promote and uphold patient safety by adhering to hospital protocols, promptly reporting incidents or near misses, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Reporting Prepare accurate and timely reports on performance, quality, and improvement activities. Submit consolidated reports for Management Review , highlighting key findings and recommendations. Policy and Process Review Review and update policies, procedures, and forms to ensure alignment with current standards and regulatory requirements. Other Duties Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the immediate superior. Qualifications Education: Graduate of any four (4)-year Bachelor’s Degree. Work Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of experience in planning, quality management, or performance monitoring in a healthcare, corporate, or governmental setting. Experience in data validation, analysis, and reporting using performance metrics (e.g., BSC or KPIs). Exposure to Quality Assurance or Continual Improvement Projects (CIP) is an advantage. Preferred Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to translate data into actionable insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of preparing and presenting clear reports. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI , and other data visualization tools. Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Performance Monitoring Frameworks .
