Position Details Location: Philippines Work Type: Onshore with potential offshore assignments (up to one month) Shift Work: Required (24/7 operational support) Job Scope You will be responsible for preparing marine weather forecasts for clients engaged in offshore and nearshore operations. These include: Dredging activities near ports Oil exploration and development in remote, harsh environments Offshore construction for the Renewal Energy sector with narrow operational windows Your primary responsibility is to deliver accurate and reliable forecasts to rigs and vessels operating offshore. Key Responsibilities Prepare daily marine weather forecasts for clients across diverse geographical regions. Maintain high forecasting standards using current weather models and techniques. Interpret model outputs and apply local effects to enhance forecast accuracy. Provide proactive meteorological and oceanographic guidance to offshore operators. Communicate clearly and confidently with offshore personnel, including expressing uncertainty when necessary. Monitor and report unexpected or severe weather developments promptly. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System (QMS) related to marine forecasting. Essential Requirements Professional qualification in meteorology Minimum 3 years' experience in marine weather forecasting Willingness to work offshore and complete BOSIET certification Proficiency in Microsoft Office Understanding of QMS policies and practices Fluent in written and spoken English Desirable Requirements Familiarity with wind and wave modelling tools Experience on offshore oil and gas facilities or vessels Basic knowledge of computer systems and networks Enthusiasm for advancing meteorology and oceanography Active participation in professional meteorological communities Personal Attributes Organised and capable of managing varied workloads Collaborative team player Resilient under pressure and able to manage demand spikes Decisive and accountable Flexible with working hours and on-call duties Compensation Fugro offers a dynamic, team-oriented environment in a growing Global market.
