Overview

Responsibilities
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting and processing.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and monitoring logs; reconcile discrepancies.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable; manage invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Ensure VAT is properly recorded and invoices/receipts are attached to each transaction; reconcile taxes and bank accounts as needed.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and monthly financial reports; assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information and ensure accuracy; stay updated on financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Assist during audits by organizing and presenting financial documents; implement automated processes for payment posting (e.g., Stripe/PayPal).
  • Work with external accountants as necessary and provide support during audits.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in e-commerce or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of UK bookkeeping (VAT, P&L, Balance Sheet, Depreciation, etc.).
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting software is required; knowledge of Xero is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with PayPal/Stripe reconciliation is desirable; Receipt Bank/Dext knowledge is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred but not required; relevant certifications are a plus.
