Director/Senior Director of Accounting

Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Leadership:
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to contribute to financial planning and decision-making processes.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance:
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and ensure timely implementation of new regulations.
• Team Management:
• Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and train team members to enhance their technical skills and professional development.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Internal Controls:
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
• External Audit Coordination:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring a smooth audit process.
• Address any audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Process Optimization:
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement best practices for financial operations and reporting.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is required; an MBA is a plus.
• Extensive experience in progressively responsible roles within accounting and finance, including leadership positions.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems
