QA/QC Supervisor

Duties And Responsibilities Conduct routine inspection on‑board vessel and check safety condition in coordination with concerned parties and establish immediate corrective action to observed unsafe condition. Ensure the availability of fire‑fighting equipment properly installed from shore to ship such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, etc. Conduct safety and fire drills periodically to familiarize employees and the fire fighting team with fire fighting activities; scheduling shall not interfere with production schedule. Implement on‑site environment, health and safety protocols and procedures in accordance with general safety company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular routine inspections of all buildings, facilities and equipment for compliance with general and specific safety standards; report non‑compliance and/or hazardous conditions and recommend remedial action as appropriate. Facilitate prevention of pollution within the area of the shipyard and ensure spill booms are in position and that crew vessel berthed at wharf are properly informed of rules against pollution. Conduct on‑site investigations of accidents and incidents involving fire, hazardous materials, unsafe situations, and/or non‑compliance issues, prepare reports and make recommendations for procedural changes as necessary. Conduct Gas Free Inspection and issue Gas Free certificates. Conduct safety inspection on board vessel and issuance of hot/cold work permit. Participate under direction in responding in emergency situations involving hazardous materials, fire and smoke incidents; assist in preparation of reports of findings and recommendations. In a specified field of expertise, conduct a variety of environmental health and safety training. Education, Skills and Experience College graduate with degree in Engineering or related courses. At least five (5) years related experience as Health & Safety Officer preferably in a shipyard industry. Good communication and personal relation skills. Computer literate.
