Job Title: Commodity Manager

Summary Description:

The Commodity Manager will be responsible for the strategic management of the supply base to ensure a continuous flow of materials supporting global manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the assigned commodity manufacturing industry, market trends, cost curves, and internal/external requirements. The Global Commodity Manager will collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Services, and Operations to develop and execute sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization, supplier management, technology selection, supply base consolidation, lead time reduction, and quality improvement. The Commodity Manager based in the Philippines will oversee Electrical/Electronic categories for supply in East Asia and support local suppliers, including mechanical items.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Manage the supply base through rigorous processes, including supplier performance reviews, root cause analysis, and development of improvement plans.
2. Lead cross-functional teams to analyze spend, develop strategies, and manage the supply base proactively.
3. Monitor market conditions, technological developments, supply chain capacity, and demand challenges, bridging trends to component purchasing.
4. Guide the selection and development of strategic suppliers to meet cost and performance goals.
5. Implement spend management strategies such as supplier assessments, negotiations, make vs. buy analyses, and inventory reduction programs.
6. Negotiate and finalize contracts with global suppliers to maximize benefits.
7. Build strong networks and collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, and team members.
8. Coordinate sourcing strategies with New Product Introduction processes for smooth manufacturing ramp-up.
9. Support corporate and divisional initiatives to achieve business objectives.
10. Ensure the successful implementation of NCR Atleos service strategies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Engineering, Materials Management, Business (Supply Chain), Operations Management, or related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in commodity/supply chain management, including supplier evaluation, purchasing, sourcing, logistics, and manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with understanding of legal and risk considerations.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and work across organizational levels.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills:

• Familiarity with AI applications in supply chain and procurement.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, inventory reduction, ERP systems, and electronic categories such as SSDs, semiconductors, and PCBs.
• Mandarin language skills are a plus.

This role offers a hybrid office/home environment with international travel as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Employment is contingent upon passing screening criteria.
